The diversified nourishment of the bottle baby : - Basic rules :
The child must be healthy
The chosen food must be gradually added, in small quantities, until the full replacement of the milk
meal, during 3-4 days
The fruits juice doesn't replace a milk meal
The new food will be given with a small spoon
It's not recommended to introduce 2 new aliments in the same time in the child's diet
When the child refuses the new food (diarrhoea, vomit), this aliment will be eliminated and you'll have to see the pediatrician
Any change in the baby's diet is indicated by the mother or the person directly responsible for the baby.
The nourishment of the bottle baby, 5 - 6 months old :
When the baby receives natural food, the milk from the mother provides him a full nourishment until he is six months old, and he doesn't need
any other aliment, not even water.
When the baby is 5 - 6 months old, he weights more than 5 kg, he can sustain his head well and he starts needing more than milk; now it's time to
diversify the nourishment (with the pediatrician/family doctor's agreement).
Fruits juices (apples, carrots) starting with a few drops and gradually raising until 30 ml/day
Fruits (raw or baked apples, peaches). Strawberries, berries, kiwi, bananas,
raspberry are allowed in the diet after the baby is one year old, because they are potentially allergic.
Vegetables (carrots, parsley, celery, potatoes, marrows, peppers, green beans).
In the beginning, as filtrated soup and, then, mashed with butter and milk.
Farinaceous without gluten (rice, corn) used to enrich the milk meal, the soup,
the mashed vegetables or fruits
The nourishment of the bottle baby, 6 - 8 months old
A correct diversification ensures more nourishing elements, necessary for a harmonious growth of the baby.
Fruits juices (apples, carrots, citrus) starting with a few drops and gradually raising until 30 - 50ml/day
Vegetables (carrots, parsley, celery, potatoes, marrows, peppers, green beans) - in the beginning as filtrated soup and, then, mashed with butter and milk
Mashed fruits (raw or baked apples, peaches)
Farinaceous with gluten (wheat, barley, rye) are introduced in the diet after the baby got used to the farinaceous without gluten, only after 6 months
Hen or beaf meat boiled and minced. Generally, you should avoid young animal meat (chicken, veal) because it's potentially allergic ; pork and sheep meat is not suited below 3 years
Cow cheese - mixed with the mashed vegetables or fruits
Yogurt prepaired in house
Egg yolk boiled, starting with a quarter; it's given 2-3 times a week. The albumen is not given under 1 year old because it's potentially allergic
The diversified nourishment of the bottle baby, 8 months - 1 year old :
After 8 months, the babies are interested in trying new tastes and can eat small pieces of aliments (boiled vegetables, mellow fruits).
Passing from mashed aliments to small pieces is made gradually, mincing in bigger pieces of food, as the kids get used.
You can start offering them small pieces of boiled carrots or peaches, which they can take from the plate by themselves and take to their mouth.
The meat is still served minced.
It's strictly forbidden to give the babies rough aliments (candy, peanut, raw carrot, popcorn) which they can choke on.
At 8 months, the baby can eat farinaceous, fruits, vegetables, han or beaf meat. During this period, you can add to the diet
meatballs soup with borsch or lemon, chicken liver, white fish (perch, trout, pike). The pork meat can only be served after the baby is 3 years old.
